Hello blog faithful…

I know it has been far too long since I’ve really posted anything, so I thought I’d update the blog a little and, you know, let you all know I am still alive.  :)

So, here’s what’s been cracking:

- We moved!  Well, just across town, but you wouldn’t know that by the amount of work it seems to take.  I’ve determined that if I never move again, I think I will be happy.  At least until next time…  The good news is we moved in to a bigger house, which means the kids have their own rooms, which means I get more sleep, which is generally good for everyone who comes into contact with me.  Which also means I can maybe cut down on my near lethal doses of caffiene.  Maybe.

- I got to work with some fabulous people yesterday on a bridal fashion/editorial shoot… So much fun!  Don’t want to give too much away – there will be a full post on that coming soon!

- Shooting a few Senior sessions lately as well, although the weather isn’t playing along very well yet.  You can see all that work over on the Senior website – Helena Montana Senior Photography – it will be updated soon as well!

- On top of all of  that planning our short little vacation out to Seattle next month.  Gotta get outta town before wedding season kicks into gear.  We always like visiting Seattle…  The kids love the Zoo.  I love going back to where I grew up.  Sometimes miss all the things you can do in the big city, but Helena is really home.

And on that note, consider yourself updated…

Last month Janna and I had the chance to fly to Denver and spend the day with Angie and Andy Wood for a private workshop, and I just wanted to share a couple of the pictures from the day.    We had a great time, learned a TON, and were exhausted by the end of the day.  :)   Look for a full writeup on our experience in the near future!  You can see there website here: Colorado Wedding Photographers, and for more info on their workshops: The Woodshop

In the meantime, here are just a couple pictures that I wanted to share.  Many thanks to Charlotte for being our model.   She was a trooper, and did a great job!

Feel free to leave some comment love if you like…  :)

I just wanted to post a quick image I shot down in Idaho a couple weeks back.  I was headed to Rexburg to shoot an engagement session for a couple, and decided I had to stop quickly.  So many times I see things as I am driving, and never take the time to pull over and capture what I see…  Well, this time I did!

Nothing award winning, but I think it is beautiful and it does capture what I was seeing.  Hope you enjoy!

So, I’m a little late in getting this posted, but better late than never, right?  We’ve been talking with other professionals in the wedding industry to try and gather some useful tips for all the brides out there.  There are so many things that you should know, and it is so hard to know what those things are, or where to find them…  So we are trying to help!

We talked to Katalin Green, who is probably THE premier Montana wedding planner, and got a couple quick tips from her.  She even made them photography specific for us!  :)

#1 -Before you send your invitations to the printer and set your ceremony time in stone, check with your photographer to make sure you are going to be making best use of the light that day!

#2 – If you are having an outdoor ceremony (and many of you do!), be sure to see if your photographer has any suggestions specific to that location – such as the best direction to position the ceremony for the time of day it is happening.

I just want to thank Katalin for taking the time to give us some handy information to pass along to you.  Be sure to check out her website from the link above.  If you are looking for a wedding planner, Katalin is one of the very best, and you can’t go wrong with her!

We hope to have some more helpful info coming up soon for you, so keep checking back.  Leave us some feedback in the comment section – let us know if this i helpful to you!

Hey, just a quick bit of news here…

Some upcoming travel dates, for those who might be interested.  We are going to be in Missoula Sunday the 28th, and probably part of Monday the 29th of March.  We already have a couple sessions scheduled, but we have space for a couple more.  Drop us an email and snag a special rate – you know you want to!

Also, it looks as though we are going to be in Seattle in early May, probably the 12-16th, or something very close to those dates.  Want us to do a portrait session for you while we are visiting?  Drop us an email and we’ll see about setting something up.  OR maybe you have a wedding that weekend, and would like us to shoot it for you (no travel fees!) – even better!

Anywho… Just wanted to post that up for any of you who might want to take advantage of either of those sets of dates.  Back to your regularly scheduled programming!
