Our favorites from 2009! Please vote for your favorite!

So, we kinda wanted to do a recap from 2009 and show a couple of our favorite images from each of the weddings we shot last year.  I say we, but I guess in actuality these are Chris’s favorites, as I picked them all.  :)

We were thinking about doing something fun, like having our readers vote, and then doing a fun prize for the couple who’s picture got the most votes.  Still debating what that prize could be…  So, I will try and get them numbered, so vote in the comments section for your fave!   (NOTE: This is all done in the spirit of fun, so please one vote per person.  We can see IP addresses and the like when you leave comments, so please play fair.  Ok, thanks!)

So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite images from 2009!

Chris

EDIT: Use the #’s listed on the post, not the ones on the images themselves…  They don’t quite match!  :)

Catching Up!

Wow!  Had a wonderful, busy, (exhausting?) holiday season, and now it’s time to get back to work!  Lots of stuff going on that I’d like to share, so here we go… (in no particular order…)

Janna had the opportunity to go to a 1-on-1 workshop with the wonderful Jessica Kettle, of Jessica Kettle Photography, who’s work Janna and I both love.  She learned a ton, and I got to learn a little too, secondhand.  :)

I’ve got some new pictures to post up here soon, and some old ones as well.  Sometime in the next week or so we will be doing at least one best of 2009 post, and I’m thinking we may even have a little fun with it!  Maybe a vote, and the couple in the winning image gets a prize?  What do you think of that?  Not 100% sure on the idea, so I’m open to hear others.  :)

Sometime in the not to distant future we will be starting what will (hopefully) become a regular feature: Guest Authors.  We will have posts (and I think maybe even some video posts!) from some people with good info to share for both brides-to-be and photographers alike.  Keep a watch for the first installment sometime in the next few weeks, hopefully.

We are going to be at the Helena Bridal Fair again this year, and we are super excited to meet you all!  Please don’t be shy - we are going to have a great giveaway, and we would love to just chat with you.

We’ve received some wonderful comments and testimonies from our clients in 2009, and some of those will be appearing on the website soon, and we may post them here with a few images tied to them as well.  Hopefully it will be something helpful for those of year who like to know you’ll get what you pay for.  :)

I think that’s about it at the moment…  I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but that’s ok.  Hopefully have another post tonight with some pictures from a recent engagement session!  Leave some love in the comment box if you have some to give.

Thanks!

Chris

Montana Wedding Photographer - Angela and Rob

I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but what can I say…  It’s just that time of year.  Christmas, New Year’s, the food, the family… Hard to keep up!  But, right in the middle of it all this year I had a lovely little winter wedding.  The wedding season in Montana generally runs from about May until September, so it’s always a treat to get to do a wedding that is outside of that!

Angela and Rob were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and had a beautiful reception at Benny’s Bistro.  The whole event was small, intimate, elegant and just plain beautiful!

With all of that said, I just have a couple quick photos I want to share.  I will post some more as I get them done, but these were a couple of my favorites.  Oh, and thanks to my beautiful wife Bridget for coming and shooting some pics as well.  One of these below is hers…  :)  Leave some love in the comments section!

Montana Wedding Photographer - Melissa and Dustin

Ok, now I am really catching up…  I think I’ve blogged almost everything…  Yeah!

Now, back to our previously scheduled blog post…  Melissa and Dustin were married on Oct. 24 in Missoula.  I met Melissa last year at Laura and Andrew Gundlach’s wedding, where she was doing video.  And you all saw their engagement pictures from earlier this year as well.  That session was a blast, and their wedding was as well!  Great people, fun times, beautiful locations…  And no snow, so that’s a bonus. :)

Janna and I had a great time shooting this wedding, and it was a fun way to pretty much wrap up the wedding season for us.  Just a few quick pictures for your enjoyment…  Let us know what you think!

Fusion!

I just have to say, we’re really excited about this. :)

Many of you have seen the Fusion trailer that we had on the blog a little while back… And some of you got to see this particular Fusion video at the Helena Wedding Showcase a few weeks back… But for the rest of you, this is brand spankin’ new!

As far as we know, we are the only photographers in Montana offering Fusion video along with our still photography. There might be someone else out there, but we haven’t found them yet! We’re proud of what we’ve created here, and we hope you enjoy it. It isn’t one-hundred percent perfect, but you will see what we can do, and we will have more to post soon!

Many, many, many thanks to Tony at Focal Point Graphic Design for his hard work on this project. His has been an instrumental part of its success.

The response that we’ve gotten with these videos so far has been great, and exceeded our expectations. We’d love to hear your feedbac, so feel free to post questions or comments in the comments section.

We hope you enjoy it, and please talk to us if it is something you’d like for your wedding day… Oh, and please be patient… It takes a few seconds for the video to buffer………

Salt Lake City Destination Wedding - Natasha and Keith

Ok, so I am just a LITTLE behind in my blogging.  Or a lot.  But who’s counting?

Natasha and Keith got married in September at the Temple in Salt Lake City.  Janna and I had fun working in a little more urban setting than we normally get a chance to…  The couple was totally laid back, relaxed, and just plain fun.  I think it comes through…

We also got to work with Stacey Tait, which was awesome.  Thanks Stacey for letting us be part of this team effort!

So, without further ado, here are a few favorites…  Hope you enjoy!  Let us know what you think; leave us some comments if you like!

Montana Destination Wedding Photographer - Margaret and Andy

I had the great pleasure of being a part of Margaret and Andy’s wedding on Oct. 16th.  It was a small, intimate wedding, comprised mostly of family and some very close friends.  It was a very relaxed, pleasant sort of fall wedding.  Just the kind I like…

The ceremony was at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, and the reception was held at the beautiful Elkhorn View Bed and Breakfast.  The food was provided by Benny’s Bistro, and it was amazing, as usual!

And now, on to a few of my favorites from the day…  Hope you enjoy, and feel free to leave any comments!

Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank yo to everyone who stopped by our booth at the Helena Wedding Showcase on Sunday.  We had a great time talking with you all, and we look forward to working with some of you soon!

Our Fusion video got a great response from you all, just like we had hoped.  We were really sold on the concept, and we are so excited to be able to share it with you!

Tons of you got the chance to sign up for our iPod Nano giveaway, and I know you are all eagerly waiting to find out who won…  Sometime later this week we will be able to draw a name and we will post the winner here on the blog.  So keep checking back to see if you’ve won!

Finally, be on the lookout for our updated website.  We are working like crazy to get it done as soon as possible, but it always takes more time than we think.  We can’t wait to debut it though, so hopefully you’ll see that coming very soon.

Thanks again!

Chris

It’s Here!

So, after all the hinting and the teasing, I’m thrilled to announce our new service…  Fusion Video!  We love that we are able to offer this to you, and we think you will love it as well!  As far as we know, we are the first wedding studio in Montana to be offering this, and we are excited to be leading the way.

I’m sure most of you have a few questions…  To get a visual of just what we are talking about, we’ve put together a trailer that shows the concept.  We will have a full video that will be debuting at the upcoming Helena Wedding Showcase (See, you need to come!)  So, check out the trailer…  Details after.  :)

[flv:/blog/Video/ReboFusionFinal.flv 600 375]

Ok, so now you want to know how this is all done?  Well, our cameras are capable of capturing full High Definition video clips.  We capture those clips throughout the day, and then take those, along with the best pictures from the day, and produce a Fusion video for you!  So, for the 2010 wedding season Janna Beecher will be joining me as the 2nd photographer, which allows us the flexibility needed to do the video aspect, as well as giving you that many more stellar images.

I hope this gives you an idea of the concept.  We have a full length video from a more recent wedding that will really showcase what we can do with this format.  Like I mentioned above, that will be debuting at the Helena Wedding Showcase, October 18th, at the Helena Red Lion Colonial Hotel.

I want to give a shout out to Tony Martin from Focal Point Graphic Design.  We’ve partnered with him to develop this concept, and the results have been great.  I don’t have the time available to really learn the ins and outs of video production, so Tony came alongside us and is going to handle the production aspects, and you may even see him at a wedding or two in 2010…  His work on this is has been an integral part of making this a reality, and we couldn’t do it without him!

So, that’s the big news!  We hope you are as excited about it as we are.  Please come visit us at the Wedding Showcase to really see how these videos shine.  I know we kinda put out a little teaser…  But we really want you to be able to see a finished, high quality version in person.  So much better than a little web resolution version!  Look forward to seeing you all there!

Oh, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on this, so please feel free to leave some feedback in the comments.  Thanks!

Kendall and Ryan: Married!

Finally starting to get back ahead of the curve on the wedding front…  This wedding is only about 3 weeks old.  :)
Kendall and Ryan got married August 15th at the Bradley Ranch, which is down just south of Twin Bridges.    The location was gorgeous, but weather threatend to get ugly all afternoon…  It was pretty touch and go for a bit, but in the end it cleared up and was perfect, if a bit chilly!

We had a blast working with this wedding party.  So much fun, and up for anything!  And brave, to boot.  It was the middle of August, and as it got near sunset you could see your breath.  But they didn’t let that slow them down!  In the end I think it was totally worth it.  But, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.  :)

As always, feel free to use that share it! button and leave some commentary if you like what you see.  Hope you enjoy!
