Sarah: Model Shoot

So, had the great opportunity over the weekend to shoot an inpromtu session with Sarah.  It was kinda last minute, getting dark fast, and no real planning.  Sometimes I think those end the best! I’m certainly happy about the way this one turned out!

Sarah was a joy to work with, and we had a ton of fun.  Just a few random locations from downtown Helena and the like.  All shot with my Canon 5d Mark II, which I am loving, by the way.  All of these were lit with just one light and a small softbox, ala Zack Arias.

Not too much else to say…  Just time to show the pics, I guess.  Leave some love if you like them; I’m sure would love to see your comments as well!

News Flash!

So, I figured it was about time to get some news up here…  I’ve got a couple things that I’ve been meaning to post, and just haven’t gotten around to it (until now).

Item of interest number uno: For the rest of this wedding season (what is left of it anyways) I am doing a little trial on some alternative pricing.  For lack of anything more clever, I am calling it my K.I.S.S. package, and it will start at $1500.  It’s your chance to have the photographer you’ve always wanted at price you can afford!  Now, doesn’t that sound like the perfect tagline?  I sound like a Mercedes commercial…!  :)  But seriously, all you last minute brides… Here’s your chance to score a great deal!

Item of interest number two-o: Portraits!  Why is that so interesting?  Well, maybe the fact that I do portraits isn’t overly interesting in itself, unless you didn’t know that I did them.  What is more interesting is some of the places I may be available to do portraits, in the not too distant future.  Such as: Seattle, Spokane, Salt Lake City, Orlando, LA…  Oh, yeah, and good old Helena, MT.  Seniors, its that time!  Don’t wait!  So, if you are in Helena, or elsewhere, and need/want/just gotta have some portraits done, lemme know.  I might be coming soon to a city near you!  (another cheesy tagline…)

Umm…  I think that was most of the news for the moment.  I’ll keep you posted.

Lindsy & Doug: Married, Vegas Style!

So, I had the great opportunity to do a little destination wedding in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago.  It was a ton of fun, and a chance to do some things I don’t normally do.  It was a very small, non-traditional wedding, with the service done in front of the fountains at the Bellagio.

We all got there Thursday around lunch, so we had lots of time to hang out…  Lindsey and Doug had lots of friends and family there, so there was lots of hanging out, eating, hanging out, and more eating.  :)  Due in large part to that, most of what I shot over the weekend was simple photojournalism style…  Just documenting the events.  You’ll see some of those in this set.  We did have the chance to a session Friday evening where we wandered the strip for a couple hours, just taking pics where ever we felt like it.  It was fun, but really, really hot.  Duh.

Saturday brought the wedding…  And having to get up at 3:30 AM to catch the shuttle to the airport for our 6 AM flight on Sunday.  You can imagine how much fun that part was!

So, check out the pics, leave some love - enjoy!  I should also mention that I also felt a little freedom to play with the way I processed these…  Hope you like!

Laura & Brad: Married!

Welcome back blog fans!

Oh, wait.  I think it was only me who was absent……  Sorry about that!  It has been a crazy couple of weeks full of weddings, meetings, wonderful brainstorming sessions…  But not much blogging, I’m afraid.

But back on topic…  Had the wonderful joy of shooting Laura and Brad’s great wedding on the 4th of July up in the mountains near Darby, MT.  We were up at the Lost Horse Lodge - beautiful setting to be sure.  We got use some really unique locations as we traveled the back roads up over the mountains.  I think a good time was had by all!

They are a wonderful couple, and it was a pleasure to get to share their day.  This will be a shorter post, as there will be a couple of them coming tonight…!

So, without further ado, enjoy the pics, and leave some comments if you feel like it!  (EDIT: I just realized they were kissing in all 3 of the pics I chose…  Oh, well, it was happening a lot….. *Grin*)

Las Vegas!

So, I leave first thing tomorrow morning for good old Las Vegas for a destination wedding.  Excited?  Oh, yeah.  :)  Although, it is going to be roughly 105 degrees.  Not so excited about that part, but it will be well worth it.

Oh yeah, if anyone has any fun suggestions for places to shoot, or fun things to do, leave a comment or drop me an email.  I have 3 days, so plenty of time to explore.

Keep you eye on the blog for pictures throughout the weekend…  So, if you can’t reach me in the next couple days, don’t worry, I’ll get back to you… I promise!

Amanda & Karl: Wedding

So, finally getting a chance to post some pics from Amanda and Karl’s wedding !  They got married at the Gallitan River Hideaway, which was a venue I hadn’t been to before.  Beautiful little place, with some really neat spots.  Didn’t hurt that the weather was absolutely perfect!

The wedding was a little bit on the smaller side, which I always enjoy, because you actually get a chance to interact with more people.  Lots of family there, and plenty of heartfelt moments.  I think I can safely say a good time was had by all.  :)

So, without any further ado…  Enjoy the pics, and feel free to leave some comments!

Melissa & Dustin: E-sesh

Had the great pleasure of doing Melissa and Dustin’s engagement session on Sunday evening.  It was a beautiful night in Missoula, and we had a blast walking around downtown for a couple hours.

I met Melissa at a wedding last year in Yellowstone where she was the videographer.  She owns Out of the Rain Productions, and is a pleasure to work with.

You’ll notice the middle 5 pics or so seem to be a bit of a sequence…  We had fun pretending they were in a photo booth, for reasons that will be clear to some of you later.  :)

Another wonderful evening spent doing something I love, hanging out with amazing people.  I am a lucky person!  Enjoy the images, and leave some comments!

Ruby & Cameron: Wedding

OK!

So I’ve finally gotten a bit more caught up, and have some more pictures to post from Ruby and Cameron’s wedding.  This wedding was so much fun!  I had Janna Beecher along with me to 2nd shoot, and a bridal party that was game for just about anything.  What more could you want?

The wedding was held at Chico Hot Springs, just outside Yellowstone National Park.  One of my favorite Montana venues, because it is gorgeous, as you will see.  :)

Thanks to all the family, both the Greers and the Ingebritsons, as they were all a pleasure be around, and me feel like family too!

I have quite a few images for this post…  I could have easily posted about 100 of them, so getting them down to 14 was an accomplishment, I think.  I hope you enjoy them, and please feel free to post up some comments!
